About CHEER Colorado
CHEER Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to show up for, positively impact, and further strengthen the Colorado LGBTQIA+ community. Their awe-inspiring cheer performances, creative philanthropy, and dedicated volunteers have not only earned them the trust and partnership of the local LGBTQIA+ community but also allowed them to support it in return through over $177,000 in donations since their 2017 founding.
CHEER Colorado is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 82-1549081).
We are also a registered charity in the State of Colorado (#20213032492).
How We Show Up
Philanthropy and volunteerism are the heart and soul of CHEER Colorado. Each season (October-September) our volunteers dedicate their time and talents raising funds for our CHEER Colorado CHEER for Life Fund.
The CHEER for Life fund provides annual unrestricted donations to nonprofit organizations that support the LGBTQIA+ community of Colorado.
Since our inception in 2017 the CHEER for Life Fund has supported more than $177,000 in giving.

Season 8
Donated $30,000 to the Trans and Gender Expansive Program of Rocky Mountain Equality, who work collaboratively to create connection and provide advocacy, education, research, cultural events, and responsive programs and services that ensure LGBTQ+ people, families, and communities thrive

Donated $20,500 to SPLASH Northern Colorado, whose mission is to support LGBTQIA+ youth and their families to enrich and affirm their identities by creating positive social experiences, advocating for their rights, and building communities of belongingness so that young people can thrive
Made additional donations of $5,500 to the Alana Faith Chen Foundation and $5,500 to Youth Celebrate Diversity

Donated $23,000 to the Alana Faith Chen Foundation, which fights to ensure every LGBTQ+ person at risk of suicide has access to the mental health treatment and therapy they need
Made additional donations of $7,000 to the CampSeen Scholarship Fund and $500 to the Colorado Healing Fund for Club Q relief

Donated $28,500 to YouthSeen, whose mission is to foster and empower the social and emotional well-being of LGBTQ youth
Made up for the months away in our COVID hiatus by attending 28 events (a total of 3,400 volunteer hours!)

Despite not being able to hold tryouts or practices or perform at our typical events for the majority of the season, donated $5,000 to Colorado Name Change Project, $3,000 to Youth Celebrate Diversity, and $2,000 to Transformative Freedom Fund, bringing our Season 4 donation total to $10,000

$20,000 donation to Transgender Center of the Rockies, a program of Mile High Behavioral Health Clinic, allowing them to hire a full-time therapist. This was the largest single gift that TCR had ever received!
Creatively adapted during the coronavirus pandemic, maintaining community support through virtual and distanced appearances

$20,000 donation to support The Center on Colfax’s Rainbow Alley, a safe and brave space for LGBTQ youth
Winner of Montucky Cold Snacks video contest, awarded with a donation of $2,648.25

$7,500 donation to Youth Celebrate Diversity, fully underwriting their Mountain West Diversity Conference and establishing a $1,000 fund to support LGBTQ-related empowerment projects. This remains the largest first-year charitable donation made by any PCA team!
Awarded $750 for coming in second place in the 2017 Rock 'n' Roll Denver Spirit On The Course competition

CHEER Colorado has developed a sterling reputation and earned our community’s trust by being dependable, reliable, and keeping our commitments. This reputation was built—and will either be maintained or eroded—by a series of tiny, seemingly individual decisions.
You, and your decisions, are CHEER Colorado.

Our volunteers are looked to as ambassadors of CHEER Colorado, the State of Colorado, the Pride Cheerleading Association, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
We actively and continuously work to earn the respect of our fellow volunteers, the groups we represent, and the public at large—whether in front of audiences of thousands or when no one is looking.

We spread joy and positivity with intention: recognizing, celebrating, and encouraging the exploration and expression of people’s authentic selves.

Pride Cheerleading Association
CHEER Colorado is part of the Pride Cheerleading Association, a network of adult cheer teams that support local LGBTQ charities and perform at various Prides and the international Gay Games.
